Re: "Avoid ingredients you can't pronounce."

Xanthan gum, agar-agar and other non-traditional ingredients are great. They are especially useful in diet or otherwise modified recipes where you need to replace an ingredient that contributes to the texture.

Re: Does reverse psychology actually work?

If people know that it is reverse psychology, that of course stops it from working. Perhaps the spread of reverse psychology was its own undoing.

Re: Do children need letter/number grades?

I think there are better ways to reward effort than letter grades, but it is definitely a fallacy that "smart" kids don't need to work hard in school.

How much coffee is too much caffeine?

I want to know what you all think, because I am considering decaf. How much coffee is too much? Moderator, if it's not too much trouble, please add a poll to this so that people can vote.

Re: Any good mask making tuturials?

This one is for one that is very similar to the disposable ones. I'm assuming that the discomfort is from the material; if it's from the shape, you'll want to make a soft cotton one (which is harder).

Simple ways to enhance simple meals

What's your favorite way to tweak the simplest of meals to enhance the flavor? Mine is to add a little lemon and coarse black pepper to canned white tuna in addition to a little hot sauce (which probably doesn't count here because it goes on everything). I'm looking for more ideas because I am tired...

Re: A child who tries to protect other children from being disciplined

But when I did, the other child tried to stop me (by grabbing my hands and trying to keep me from being able to move away). And in his best attempt at an authoritative tone, he ...
