Are you allowed to open soda bottles on Shabbos?

Many poskim allow this. If you throw away the cap, it is allowed by even those who are otherwise machmir. I keep a collection of bottle caps in a drawer, which I use on Shabbos, and I throw the ones I remove on Shabbos into the trash.

I think there's a brand that has a cap specifically designed to be permitted on Shabbos.

What about opening soda cans? I personally don't, but I know some people do. Since it's always thrown out after one use, is it better or worse?

Opening soda cans is a much more complicated Shaila thats why I recommend you should rather use Seltzer cans.

Oh, I get it. I totally agree. (I prefer seltzer to soda altogether.)
