Is cancel culture contributing to hate on both sides?

If someone is canceled, that probably makes them feel angry and also in need of social acceptance from wherever they can find it. Doesn't that make them much more likely to join an actual hate group?

Probably. They said that KKK membership went up whenever racism became a big topic in the press 100 years ago. We're heading in that direction again.
